Montes Wines embarked on an ambitious project on Mechuque Island, in Chiloé, pushing the boundaries of viticulture. Just 40 metres from the sea, over 5,000 vines of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were planted to capitalise on the unique climate and exceptional soils. By employing innovative techniques, such as scattering shells to reflect heat and installing protective netting, they’ve adapted the vines to their surroundings while always respecting the local ecosystem. This venture embodies the winery’s visionary spirit and its commitment to sustainability and local development.
