1988
Viña Montes is founded, initially under the name Discover Wines. The first shipment of Montes Alpha is sent to the United States
1990
Montes Sauvignon Blanc wins its first gold medal at Vinexpo
1993
Montes introduces the Syrah grape variety to Chile
1994
Launch of Montes Alpha Chardonnay
1995
Acquisition of the Apalta Estate
1996
Launch of Chile’s first iconic wine: Montes Alpha M
2000
Launch of the first iconic Syrah: Montes Folly
2001
Acquisition of the property in Marchigüe

Foundation of Bodega Kaiken in Mendoza, the Argentine branch of Viña Montes
