MARCHIGÜE
El Arcangel Estate
Located at only 25 km (15,5 miles) from the Pacific Ocean coastline, this beautiful property produces structured and expressive wines.
The average temperature is slightly cooler than on the remaining areas of the Colchagua valley, which make it the ideal location for varieties such as red wine grapes, which benefit from a slow maturity process.

Our Marchigue estate is not yet opened to visitors.

The property is strategically located behind the Coast Mountain Range, where “shadow-like rain” takes place. Rainfall at this location is a great deal lower than in other places in the Colchagua Valley, thus rainfall during harvest is very low.

Denomination of origin
Marchigüe, Colchagua Valley

Weather
Only (approx.) 1.500 hours degree days, with 350 mm of rainfall during the months of winter and early spring makes this property very different from the rest of the Colchagua valley. It is located at 25 km (15,5 miles) from the coastline. The thermal amplitude is 18 degrees with variations from 30ºC (86 F) and 12ºC (54 F).

The Terroir is clay loam soil although its contains less rocky material than our La Finca de Apalta Estate, making it have a higher water retention capacity. A Terroir of this type produces more tannins and stronger, structured and fruity wines.

200 m (656 ft) above sea level.
