Viña Montes began operations at the end of 1998. The founding partners fashioned the vineyard with a clear thought in their minds on the course the company would take: producing and selling “premium” wines for the most demanding markets worldwide. The results are clear: Montes is a pioneer quality wine producer in Chile.

From the beginning, the outcome of our efforts and passion for quality went over and above our expectations. We have received with great satisfaction and humility, the highest recognition and acknowledgment globally, and we are very grateful for it.

The achievement behind this long and fertile path has taken place as a result of the experience and persistence of its four founding partners: Aurelio Montes, winemaker with over 25 years experience, Chairman of the partnership and recognized as one of the best professionals in this line of business; Alfredo Vidaurre, University of Chicago, MBA became the financial whiz behind the vineyard; Douglas Murray, the marketing genius in charge of exports, has been involved in the business of wine exports for 10 years in Europe and another 20 years in Chile, he has given the vineyard a special appeal; and Pedro Grand, provided his own cellar and vineyard as well as valuable agricultural knowledge.
